1. Your Health Goals:
On an average day, how does your body normally feel? Are you tired all of the time or full of energy? Do you get colds and flu’s easily or do you never seem to get sick? Today, write in your journal about how your body normally feels on an average day. Then, write about how your body feels today.
What changes would you like to make regarding your health? Do you feel that you need to loose weight for better health? Would you like to have more energy every day? Do you need to start working on improving your body’s immune system? Write about how you would like to see your health improve and what changes you believe you could make to start improving your health now.
For instance, if you feel that you need to loose weight for better health, what do you believe you could honestly do now to work towards that goal? Perhaps you could start working out for at least half an hour everyday, drinking more water and eating more fruits and vegetables instead of junk food. Start very simply for now and write out in your journal the changes you want to make, and how you can do that. Now, make a commitment to “work on your health goals” every day this month and write about your experiences in your journal. For instance if you goal is to have more energy everyday, you could write:
“I am committed this month to improving the quality of my health. It is my goal and intention to have more energy everyday, and I will take simple steps each day towards fulfilling that goal. Some of the actions that I will take this month will include working out more often, drinking more water each day, and getting at least eight hours of sleep a night.”

2. Your Self-esteem Goals:
How do you feel about yourself? Last month we explored the realm of self-esteem and how our beauty products make us feel. This month we are also going to commit to improving our sense of self. Ask yourself again, how you feel about yourself. Do you believe you are a beautiful person with many talents and gifts? Or do you see yourself as “less than” other people? How would you like to feel everyday about yourself? Do you dream of feeling confident and happy? Would you like to be less harsh and judgmental towards yourself (and thus resulting in being less judgmental towards others)? Would you like to see yourself as more than just your good looks?
Now write about what can you do this month to start improving your sense of self. If it is your goal to start seeing yourself as more than just your good looks, perhaps you can commit this month to doing at least three kind and selfless things for someone else. This would be a great way for you to see the beauty that exists within you and within others!
Or if your goal is to have more self-confidence, you could commit to taking at least three brave actions this month. For instance you could try calling that person you have been holding off on calling (due to low self-esteem), joining a yoga class or a spiritual group, and saying positive affirmations each morning before leaving your house to affirm your sense of self worth.
After you have written out a plan on how you can start to improve your sense of self, make a commitment to working on improving your sense of self this month. An example would be:
“I am committed this month to improving my sense of self. It is my goal and intention to learn how to truly love myself in every way. Some of the actions that I will take this month will include joining a yoga class, saying positive affirmations everyday and taking some time each week to pamper my physical body.”
3. Your Beauty Goals:
This month we will also be working on improving our outer appearance. What are some of your beauty goals? Would you like to loose weight, restore health and beauty to dry damaged hair or restore suppleness to your skin? How would you like to see your outer appearance improve? You may find that as you commit to working on your health and sense of self worth, your physical appearance will improve. Now, make a commitment to “work on your physical appearance” every day this month and write about your experiences in your journal. For instance if you goal is to restore health and beauty to dry damaged hair, you could write:
"It is my goal and intention this month to improve the health and beauty of my hair. I will take time each day to properly grooming my hair without using harsh chemicals and I will also dedicate at least one day week to a special natural hair treatment at home. I will do the research required to learn more about how to heal my hair and how to keep it healthy and beautiful."
So, this month you will have three goals to work on and you can dedicate some time each day towards achieving those goals this month. My own personal goals are:
1. My Health Goals – To get plenty of rest and to eat well as I care for my newborn baby.
2. My Self-esteem Goals – To feel comfortable and self-confident as I nurse my child (something that is new to me).
3. My Beauty Goals – To pamper my body properly as I transition from pregnancy to early motherhood.
You can read more about my own personal goals and my progress with these goals in my MySpace blog (see links below). You can also feel free to discuss your own goals in our Bella Online Body Care forum (see links below).
