No matter how we try to escape or deny it, who we are is a direct result of our family of origin. Adoptive families are included in this definition. If you grew up in an institutional setting, your family may have been a system that frequently changed members.
We carry childhood issues into adulthood and for some of us, these issues are never resolved. Family fighting in your dream may symbolize inner struggle or incongruence. The confict may be within yourself, with an actual family member or with a surrogate family, such as your "work" family or circle of close friends.
If you recognize the issues your dream relates to, perhaps it's time to address them. Problems are best resolved through communication instead of yelling, violence or "the silent treatment." Holding on to deep seated issues can affect all of your future relationships. If you don't feel that family issues can be resolved, perhaps your dream is telling you to separate these issues and resolve them within yourself so that you can move on.
