Food Site of the Month - Wing Lee Hong Co
Guest Author - Vanette (Vannie) Ryanes

Here is a site that helps you to become familiar with regional Chinese foods and cooking. Wing Lee Hong's is a real supermarket in Leeds, England. They do not sell products online. However, you can get information on certain foods. For instance lemon grass is identifed by a picture, a definition and suggested use. Information doesn't get better than this.

Lemon grass looks like a very long thin, woody green onion that is pale yellow-green in colour. Bruise and chop before using to release flavour. Use in soups, stews, curries and stir-fries.

There are some great recipes plus information concerning Chinese festivals and an indepth explaination of Chinese New Year which was January 22,2004. It is Year 4701 by Chinese calendar and the first day in the Year of the Monkey.

See Related Link for Wing Lee Hong Co. This site is updated and modified on a regular basis so all of the information is fresh. Enjoy!
