Tarter Sauce Recipe

Having fish for dinner but no tarter sauce in the fridge? Don't fret, you can make your own in a few minutes.

INGREDIENTS

1 cup mayonnaise
2 1/2 tblspn sweet pickle relish
1 tbspn onion, very finely chopped
1 tspn mustard
1 tspn apple cider vinegar
Salt to taste (optional)

DIRECTIONS

Mix in bowl until well blended. Chill about 15 mins. Make about 1-1/2 cups.

Serve with fried fish, shrimp, crab or salmon cakes. Makes 1 cup of tarter sauce.

If you like a spicier tarter sauce try this recipe hot peppered tarter sauce:

INGREDIENTS

1 cup mayonnaise
2 1/2 tblspn sweet pickle relish
2 tbspn onion, very finely chopped
1/4 tspn hot pepper sauce
parsely (optional)

Mix all ingredients together, pour into a serving bowl and sprinkle with chopped parsley. The result is a spicey-hot blend that also makes a great spread for fish sandwiches or hamburgers.
