Jackson's Half-Time Show Proves Too Hot For CBS, NFL
Most say it was unintentional, some say it was not. Either way, Janet Jackson gave the Superbowl audience and viewers at home a very unexpected R-rated show last night.

Jackson and surprise guest Justin Timberlake were in the middle of their performance during the MTV-produced halftime show when a bodice-ripping dance move went awry, causing Jackson's right breast to be exposed, piercing and all, through the opening in her skin-tight leather outfit.

CBS, which was airing the event, quickly cut away from the shot and shortly thereafter the stadium lights went black. The incident was not mentioned or shown further.

In a statement to the press, Timberlake said, "I am sorry that anyone was offended by the wardrobe malfunction during the halftime performance of the Super Bowl. It was not intentional and is regrettable."

Jackson was unavailable for comment, but her spokesperson reportedly told MTV News that she apologizes for the incident.

MTV itself issued a statement, saying the incident was "completely unintentional."

CBS, owned by Viacom, brought in sister network MTV to produce the halftime show several years ago in an effort to attract a younger audience for its Super Bowl broadcasts. Tonight's show, however, may be MTV's last according to rumblings at NFL Headquarters.

"We were extremely disappointed by elements of the MTV-produced halftime show," said NFL Executive Vice President Joe Browne in a press statement.

Jackson's breast was not the only nudity the NFL had to contend with last night during halftime. A streaker, perhaps inspired by Jackson, held up the game for several minutes prior to the second-half kickoff. He attempted to elude security but didn't take the football players into account in his getaway plans. He was knocked down by New England Patriots linebacker Matt Chatham and escorted off by a group of security personnel. Only attendees in the stadium got to see this, though, as the entire incident was kept off the air.

In the interest of keeping this story family friendly, I have chosen not to show a photo of the Jackson incident. However, those curious minds of adult age, may view a photo at yahoo.com.
