Deja Vu
Have you ever had someone come up to you as if they’re certain they know you but you’ve never seen them before in your life? Have you traveled somewhere or scheduled an open house and felt not only familiar with the place but somehow seem to know precisely where things are without having any previous knowledge of the location?
Deja vu is an interesting feeling. It's one of having met someone you’ve never seen before or traveled someplace that you haven’t, but still there's a keen and nostalgic sense that you have. But, somehow details seem to emerge gradually and at the same time blink out like a light as if waking from a dream you're trying to remember.
It can come across in a whim at a business meeting, when someone you've never met walks through the door. It can waft across like a memory you have no recollection of while walking through a museum or erupt in a swell of emotion staring out the passenger window and for no reason at all feel as if you may have once even traveled those plains some time ago by foot.
Exploring feelings of Deja vu can really prove to be an eye opener or just simply interesting, especially when the things you seem to remember, end up having some credibility. It isn't so much that you have to sit on every feeling you do have or know precisely how it all came to be, but past that glass bowl daze that can hit you every once and awhile, there are things, hints, that time and again you'll notice and sometimes even resurface over the years.
Just like anything you might try to remember, if you start from the strongest thing that you do and work your way back, even more details may begin to emerge. It could be a scent, a landscape or a dream where bits and pieces come together as you're going about your day, but when a feeling of familiarity hits you, just keeping a journal by the bedside can sometimes prompt an informative dream or two or maybe you have a recouring on already you'd like to begin with.
But that feeling that tells you, in some faint way that someone is familiar or you've been somewhere before, there's a good chance it might just be that there's a part of you that remembers that you have! Comments about this article
