Assassin's Creed Revelations

Assassin's Creed Revelations
Assassin's Creed Revelations is yet another member of the Assassin's Creed family. If you're a fan of Assassin's Creed, you'll enjoy immersing yourself in the world. If you detested Assassin's Creed, this won't change your mind.

You're now camped out in Istanbul, with women in veils and gypsies in coin-laden skirts. You get occasional flashbacks as the old character - now a master - and it does help if you've played the previous games to know the town layout. Still, even new-to-the-series players will enjoy this.

Those who played before will note there aren't any wanted posters. When your infamy is below 20% you really just don't worry about it. Only when it creeps over 25% do the herald start appearing for you to bribe. Really what the game is driving you towards is to buy a bunch of shops, then bring down your infamy level, then buy a bunch more shops, and so on, before you progress the story line. That way, you have a steady source of income.

There are new weapons, like a hook toy that helps you climb. We like the sticky bombs that snag onto guards. Sound familiar?

You recruit assassins, help them gain levels, and take control of towns around the Mediterranean. Those also bring in revenue for you. You're learning to build an empire.

There are multiple assassin dens, and if you get your infamy up to 100% the Templars take an interest in one. This isn't always a bad thing - it's actually required for later challenges.

They've pulled out some of the tedious activity of previous games like riding a horse for 10 minutes straight.

All in all, the game is quite a lot of fun, and the graphics can be spell-bindingly beautiful at times. Sure, sometimes the character models act REALLY oddly, wiggling like snakes in the grass. We haven't quite hit perfection in game design yet.

If you're a fan of Assassin's Creed, you'll love the extension of gameplay and the interesting new atmosphere to explore. If you've found Assassin's Creed to not match with your gameplay style, you'll probably not find anything new here to change your mind.

Well recommended for fans.
