Oily Skin Treatments

Some people inherit oily skin from their parent's and there is nothing they can do about the genetically inherited skin condition. Oily skin typically affects teens when their hormones are out of control. Teens with oily skin also experience acne and other skin irritations. It is interesting to note that teens and adults are equally affected by oily skin. Why? Well, a number of people who experience oily skin during their teens carry the oily skin condition into adulthood. Today, oily skin is easily treated with over the counter products or a few natural products.

Oily Skin Good News

It is strikingly odd to those with oily skin, but they are the envy of many friends. Wondering why? Well, take a look at any friend who has oily skin. People with oily skin wrinkle less than others with dry or normal skin.

Oily Skin Cures

Cleansers
Home made treatments for oily skin are plentiful. Here is one of the easiest techniques suggested by Dermatologist. First, it is understandable that oily skin attracts dirt and grime, they find. Consequently, the dirt and grime builds up on the skin and magnifies the oiliness on the skin. Dermatologist suggest that people with oily skin should simply wash their face with a good cleanser two or three times per day to decrease the oiliness. Use a cleanser with benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, glycolic acid, or beta-hydroxy acid. These components reduce the oiliness in the skin. Remember to test the product before use to make sure that it does not irritate the skin further.

Toners
Products that contain alchohol make a good mild toner for the skin. Dermatologist also recommend using a product that contains salicylic acid which is good at reducing the amount of oiliness in the skin. Here is how to use the product. Use the toner only on the areas that are oily. Avoid using them on normal or dry skin areas. This might dry the skin out.

Medicated Pads
Dermatologist also recommend carrying around medicated pads or alchohol wipes to cleanse the skin during the day. This might seem like an extreme measure, but it helps to substantially keep the oiliness under control. There are also cosmetic towelettes on the market that quickly remove the oiliness.

Natural Oily Skin Scrub

Using a natural skin scrub that you can make is a good way to deeply cleanse the pores and remove oiliness. Here is a natural home made scrub that is good for oily skin. Warning: Do not use this scrub on irritated skin.

Natural Almond Honey Scrub

2 tablespoons crushed almonds
1 tablespoon honey

Mix the ingredients in a bowl. Spread across face. Leave on the face for about five minutes. Rinse off the mixture with cool water.

Those with severe oily skin conditions, acne, or those who notice a sudden change in their skin condition should consult with a dermatologist.
