Amazing herbs beginning with C that provide a positive effect on your well-being.

Calendula
Calendula is also known as pot marigold or garden marigold. The petals of the herb are used for medicinal purposes, culinary purposes. Today herbalists prepare infusions of the herb to treat spasms, fevers, and menstrual problems. Herbalists also prepare a calendula ointment or skin salve to treat a number of skin conditions which include everything from chapped skin to diaper rash.

Capsicum
Capsicum is also commonly referred to as red pepper or cayenne pepper. Capsicum is packed with Vitamin C and is regarded as a great spice to season foods. Studies show that capsicum taken internally might lower cholesterol in some individuals, decrease blood clotting, coughs, and fever. Capsicum creams or ointments applied externally to the skin reduce pain in the area. One warning: avoid eye contact because capsicum will sting sensitive eyes.

Catnip
The dried leaves and flowers are used in herbal preparations. It is also a familiar folk lore that cats are attracted to catnip. Well, this folklore is quite true. Cats are very attracted to the fragrant mint smelling herb and will roll around in the stuff for hours. Sipping a hot cup of catnip tea at bedtime is thought to induce sleep. Also, used to control flatulence in the body.

Chamomile
Chamomile is the main ingredient in many herbal remedies used over the centuries. Digestive problems are very responsive to a cup of hot chamomile tea. Chamomile tea is thought to ease jangled nerves and reduce stress. The tea is also recommended to treat cramps, muscle aches, and pains in the body. Highlight brown hair naturally by rinsing the hair with a cup of chamomile tea. Sit outside in bright sunlight to let hair dry and form golden streaks.

Chickweed
This plant grows in the wild in America and is native to Europe. Herbalist use the stems and leaves of the chickweed plant in various herbal preparations. Poultice applied to the skin treats wounds, boils, abscesses. Herbalist recommend sipping chickweed tea to ease stomach disorders, cure bowel problems, and heal respiratory problems.Warning: women who are pregnant or nursing should not consume the herb.

Chicory
Chicory grows wild on land areas across the United States. The root of the chicory plant is added to many special preparations. Chicory is thought to stimulate the appetite, and ease an upset stomach. One popular use for the chicory plant is in coffee. The root of the chicory is roasted and added to coffee. Search health food stores for chicory coffee substitute that is healthier than regular coffee. Many find that the chicory leaves are a tasty addition to a fresh salad.

Coltsfoot
The dried leaves, roots, and flowers are added to many herbal healing preparations. The coltsfoot flower is commonly found in the United States, Europe, and Canada. Herbal preparations with coltsfoot are thought to cure bronchial conditions. Warning:women who are pregnant or nursing should not consume the herb. Plant is also very toxic in large quantities.
