Customarily, the gifts are the familiar Valentine's Day Cards, flowers, chocolates. Don't get me wrong, these are gifts that are certainly well appreciated by their recipients. I suggest, changing up your routine. Think outside of the box. Get Creative! Create a Home Made Valentine's Day Gift Basket.
Fill the gift basket with fresh scented herb candles that inspire tranquility, a long-lasting potpourri made with dried herbs, a soothing herbal sachet with healing qualities. A homemade Valentine's Day gift basket complete with these fragrant handicrafts is a wonderful gift to give on this very special holiday. This easy guide will help you create the fragrant gift in several easy steps. The ingredients for the home made gifts are readily available at most craft stores or discount stores. Of course, many might already own many of the necessary ingredients.
Create this very fragrant dried herbís potpourri that envelopes the air with a long-lasting scent. Note: if the ingredients are not readily available in your home garden, purchase dried potpourri at a craft store and add your favorite essential oils.
7 Drops favorite essential oils (lavender, pine, jasmine)

Herbal Sachets are a fantastic Valentine's Day gift. The sachets are the perfect items to slip into a dresser drawer, closets, luggage, bags, or place around a room to add fragrance. Choose a vibrant color or Valentine's Day theme for the sachet material.
Small swatch fabric or small lace gift bags
Place a tablespoon of potpourri in the center of the fabric square or gift bag, gather the edges of the fabric together and tie the fabric with a pretty ribbon. Make several sachets to fill the basket.
Several white candles broken into pieces
2 cups dried herbs or potpourri
2 wax color crayons
Recycle soup cans or small waxed milk carton for molds
Few drops essential oils
Melt the candles in a bowl over a saucepan filled with hot water. Add the waxy crayons in your favorite color and let them melt completely. Remove the bowl with the melted ingredients from the heat. Set it on a steady surface and add the dried herbs or potpourri to the mix along with essential oils. Take the candle molds and coat them with Petroleum jelly on the inside. Drop white string that has been previously coated with wax to the bottom of the mold. Tie the top of the string on a pencil and let the string drop into the mold's center. Pour the wax into the mold. Let the candle set for 24 hours.
Gather the home made Valentine's Day Gifts together. Place bright fabric ribbons around the candles, Potpourri looks decorative in large lace gift bags or fancy jars tied with ribbons, Herb sachets look very festive in small lace fabric bags tied with ribbons. Arrange the home made items in a gift basket. Give away on Valentine's Day or keep to enjoy!.
