Green Tea Helps You Lose Weight
Green tea and weight loss potential.
Suppose, mass green tea hysteria hit the United States. News spread that green tea blasted those fat cells and caused amazing weight loss. You'd probably rush out to the nearest supermarket and load up on the healthy green brew. Well, I might be exaggerating, but I am sure that those who need to lose a few pounds might give it a try. Ever wonder if drinking green tea to lose weight is the real deal or another weight loss scam? Let's take a closer look.
Medical studies agree that green tea is a healthy herbal drink. In fact, green tea is a very nutritious substitute for caffeine laden drinks or other beverages loaded with chemicals. A few medical studies suggest that green tea does have a noticeable affect on fatty tissue, metabolism, and the body.
Green Tea Promotes Weight Loss
A weight loss study discovered that the green tea might help promote weight loss by increasing the metabolic rate in the body. It is important to note that a highly concentrated form of green tea, in liquid and extract form, was used in the study. You'd probably have to drink a dozen cups of green tea each day to get the same affect.
The weight loss study also concluded that green tea combined with caffeine increased the weight loss potential. Green tea and caffeine are a common combination in many of those concentrated green tea weight loss products. However, don't get your hopes up high and rush out to buy green tea products. Studies show green tea combined with caffeine might cause more harm than good. It would appear that combining green tea with caffeine defeats a number of health related purposes.
Green Tea/Limited Weight Loss
Furthermore, caffeine increases the heart rate and blood pressure. This is potentially dangerous for those with blood pressure or heart conditions. Well, green tea has very limited weight loss benefits. Still, the green tea weight loss myth persist. Health professionals suggest combining regular exercise with a low calorie diet plan to lose weight. Don't give up the natural green tea! Natural green tea, without additives, is still a very soothing and flavorful herbal drink.
