The east coasts only aircraft carrier count down will begin at 9pm on December 31. Come aboard the USS Yorktown Aircraft Carrier in Mount Pleasant, SC and be a part of the second annual Yorktown Countdown. This celebration will include entertainment from live bands and DJ’s playing music from all genres. What a unique way to ring in the New Year and what a view!
For a family friendly option consider Happy New Years Charleston. On Tuesday, December 31 from 4:00pm to 10:30pm join a community celebration offering a non-alcoholic and family-oriented alternative to ringing in the New Year. This free event is a citywide celebration and offers entertainment for everyone including comedy, African dancing, and a variety of musical genres and activities for children. Located at Marion Square, King & Calhoun Streets. December 31st from 4:00pm to 10:30pm.
Want to try something new and invigorating this year? Why not head to Myrtle Beach and participate in the Ocean Lakes 13th Annual Polar Bear Plunge!
Come join this growing club of young and old alike who take a chilly dip in the Atlantic! The Polar Plunge takes place during the day on New Years Eve at the observation deck.
Ready to hit the town but need and option for the kids? Ripley’s Aquarium in Myrtle Beach is hosting a New Years Eve Glow Party for kids only! Your children age 6-12 can enjoy a supervised sleep over at the aquarium where there will be karaoke, pizza, crafts, movies and a live broadcasting of the ball drop. Festivities begin on December 31 at 8pm and wrap up on January 1 at 8am!
If you live in upstate SC then The Embassy Suites in Greenville is the place to be to ring in the New Year.
