Book Review - Where Do Belly Buttons Come From

Have you ever needed prompting to remember that God loves you? This children's book of the non-historical truth of where belly buttons come from carries a sweet reminder.

As the book begins, two children, Amy and Brennan, are on the way to visit their grandparents. They know from experience that grandpa always has an answer for every question. This time they decide to ask him a silly question: "Where do belly buttons come from?" They giggle and wonder what he will say. As Grandma serves cookies, their grandpa makes up an age appropriate story and uses it to impress on them the truth that God loves them. The story gives them a lesson that will follow then throughout life. They will always have a belly button as a reminder. This book is fascinating to young children and is fun for adults. It offers a light-hearted and visible reminder of God's love for each and every one of us, young or old.

Many of us lovingly remember wisdom and stories told by our grandpas and our grandmas and wish we had a jumping off place to introduce God into our conversations. This would be a fun book to read to the little ones in our life. It is a sweet story to tell children and a good introduction to begin building their relationship with God.

The book is twenty five pages, making it easy to read to all ages. It includes adorable illustrations that are colorful and large enough that even the tiny children will be fascinated. The illustrations represent boys and girls from every race and the story illustrates God's love for each child individually.
This is a children's story, but don't we all need that reminder of God's love, every once in a while?

The author:
Jeffery Warren Scott is a story teller, ventriloquist, humorist, and pastor, holding a Ph.D. in religion from Baylor University. He has written many articles on children and child well-being. His first book, "Does Your Child's World Scare You?" examined how we can make the world a better place for children.

From the author, "By wrapping the truth of God's love in a cute and fun story, Where Do Belly Buttons Come From? is designed to remind children of all ages that we are special and we are loved."

I received an electronic copy of this book for an honest review. I was not paid for the review.
