Home-Style Pedicure and Foot Massage
If your feet ache, you probably feel it all over your body. Tired aching feet is a problem experienced by millions of people daily. Especially, true for those who spend most of their working day on their feet. Aching feet is usually reflected in a tired face and eyes. This might lead to a painful expression that is carried all day long. Well, here are a few tips to change that scowl to a wonderful smile because your feet look and feel wonderful.
Of course, the idea is to make your feet look and feel fabulous. We are going to begin with a home-style pedicure that is easy to prepare in the comfort of your home. We shall end with a relaxing foot massage.
Relax in a comfortable chair that provides a comfortable platform to perform the entire pedicure. Remove any old polish on your toenails with a polish remover. Are your toenails scratching your nylons and socks? Time to trim them down! Cut them straight across with pedicure scissors. Smooth down the toenail edges with a nail-file
Next, soak your feet in nice warm sudsy water for about five minutes or until the water cools. Take a nailbrush and scrub the toes. Remove feet out of the water and dry them with a towel.
Exfoliate your feet with this simple recipe. Take 3 tablespoons Epsom salt, 3 tablespoons regular salt, and 3 tablespoons baking soda. Mix those ingredients with a tiny bit of water to make a thick paste. Massage the mixture on the feet for several minutes. This home-style exfoliation should remove dead skin on the feet and reveal the new skin underneath. Note: test mixture on small section of skin to make sure that you are not allergic to this preparation. Rinse your feet in warm water and dry with a soft towel. Take an orange stick and push back cuticles on the toenails.
Take petroleum jelly and add a generous amount to each foot. Rub it in every part of the foot and around the toes which have a tendency to get dry and flake.
Take one foot and flex it up and down with your hands. Repeat the process with the other foot. Squeeze and release each toe with your hands. Repeat once or twice more.
Next, use your thumbs and fingers to gently massage the bottom of your feet. Go over the entire bottom of the foot a few times. Remain seated and stretch legs out in front of you, heels on floor. Shake your feet back and forth.
Take a soft towel and remove any remaining traces of the petroleum jelly. Apply a clear base coat of polish to your toenails. Apply a second clear coat or one coat of color. End with a color sealer top coat. Sit and let polish dry for several minutes. Take a deep breath and relax. You've just completed a home-style pedicure and foot massage in the comfort of your home.
