Fun in the Sun Survival Kit

All you sun worshiper's are probably highly aware of the price you pay for working on your tan. That gorgeous tan is causing your skin to wrinkle, creating age spots, and might lead to skin cancer. Certainly, over the course of a few years, basking in too much sun damages the outer layer of the skin. Follow the tips here to avoid those problems.

During the summer, just about everybody is eager to enjoy activities in the sun. Surprisingly, a number of people forget about protecting their skin. Exposing the skin to intense sun robs the skin of precious moisture and damages skin, hair, and even the eyes. Here is an idea; prepare a personal summer survival kit for summer days in the hot sun. Simply add them to a plastic zip-lock bag or a cosmetic bag that has a secure zipper. The survival kit is good to go to the shore, to work, casual shopping, or walking about.

Your Personal Summer Survival Kit

Summer Survival Items

Large Hat - Large hats or a baseball cap are great. Anything that shields the eyes and covers the hair is a great idea. And consider changing to a shampoo and conditioner with SPF protection to protect hair and scalp on days hair and scalp are exposed to the hot sun.

Cooling Bandanna - Wear an evaporating cooling bandana around your neck or to hold your hair off the forehead. Great for those who work outside. The evaporating cooling bandana should absorb sweat and keep you feeling fresh and cool through the day. Check out the Chill-it Bandannas that are a very stylish accessory during the summer. My pick is something in a cheetah print, leopard print, or camouflage.

Small Mini Fan - Mini fans fit in your summer survival kit. Whip out that fan and enjoy a cool breeze at any time your temperature starts soaring. The mini fans are tiny but provide a very effective cool breeze.

Wet Wipes - Wet wipes, baby wipes, facial wipes. Buy the wipes that include soothing ingredients like aloe vera or vitamin e. Great for nourishing dry skin and keeping fresh.

Stylish Sunglasses - Eyes are very vulnerable to the intense sun rays. Never leave home without a pair of sunglasses to protect eyes. Always purchase sunglasses with 100 percent UV protection.

Bug Repellent - Burt's Bees herbal insect repellent or Badger anti-bug balm are DEET free and will drive those mosquito's away. Natural ingredients that repel those nasty bugs include eucalyptus oil, peppermint oil. or citronella oil.

Lip balm - Most lipsticks do not include enough sun screen protection for sensitive lips. Purchase a lip balms with extra strong SPF. Aubrey Organics Lip Balm, Burt's Bees Hydrating Lip Balm, Blistex, and Natural Ice are products to try.

Sunscreen- Cosmetic companies listen to their customers concern about sun damage. They add sun screen protection to their line of cosmetics, but they might not be effective enough to protect your skin. Doctors Recommend using SPF 30 or higher. Burt's Bees Sun Screen SPF 30 is one to try or one of Jason Natural Product Sunscreens.

Deodorant - Tom's of Maine Natural Deodorant, Kiss My Face Liquid Rock, Arm and Hammer Essential Natural Deodorant, give long lasting protection.

Scents/Cologne - Include a mini size essential oil or cologne fragrance in your summer survival kit. Any oil or cologne in scents like lavender, sandalwood, eucalyptus, or peppermint. The oils create a fresh feeling and repel summer insects.

Natural Breath Fresheners - Keep your breath smelling sweet. Carry a natural breath freshener like sweet licorice or cloves with you.

Bottled Water - By the time you feel thirsty you are probably dehydrated. Therefore, it is a good idea to keep bottled water nearby.

Face Spray - Spray the face with cool water to reduce the heats affect on sensitive skin. Here is how to make your own inexpensive face spray. Purchase a mini size bottle with spray attachment.Fill with fresh water. Spray gently across your face to release heat stress.

Power Bar - Natural and organic power bars generate energy to keep you going. One popular power bar is Clif Energy Bar. Available in several different flavors. Packed with plenty of vitamins, minerals, protein.

Cellphone - Always carry a fully charged cellphone during the summer. Then, if you should experience heat exhaustion help is just a phone call away.

Include all the items mentioned or mix and match. At least carry a few for your own body care and total summer care safety and protection.
