Sedentary Lifestyle Risk


Living a sedentary lifestyle is a habit to avoid. Lack of exercise leads to a multitude of health problems. Advanced technology simplified daily living and produced a new health condition. This condition is the sitting down disease. Some might refer to it as the couch potato disease.Let's take a closer look.

Sedentary Lifestyle Dangers
Health concerns and body care concerns arise because people spend most of their day sitting down at work. They arrive home and spend the rest of the evening sitting down to relax or watch television. Statistics show that all this inactivity increases the risk of developing obesity, heart disease, and diabetes. However, those health risks are reduced with a few lifestyle changes.

Increase Physical Activity
Health enthusiasts might regard working out at the gym as the best way to increase physical activity. This is not necessarily the truth. The easiest way to increase physical activity begins with taking small steps daily. For example, increasing physical activity in small ways. Here are a few ideas.

Take the steps instead of the elevator or escalator
Ride your bike to work
Walk to the store instead of driving.
Reduce the time spent sitting at your desk
Get up and walk around your desk every few minutes
Go for a walk on your lunch break
Park far away from your door to increase walking distance
Get extra exercise by cleaning your home.
Do Yard-work
Walk your pet regularly
Stop driving everywhere. Walk more or even take public transportation.
Purchase a pedometer and walk at least 5,000 steps per day.
Purchase home exercise equipment like hand weights or a jump rope and use them.

Health experts agree that increasing physical activity reduces the risk of a number of health problems. It also improves heart health and extends life expectancy. Strive to get at least an extra thirty minutes of physical activity per day to receive those health benefits. Make it a daily part of your body care routine.
