The saying goes "history wil repeat itself." We do not question this wisdom as we see this evidenced not only in our society, but in our pesonal life experiences as well. But how are you to reconcile this with a neighboring philosophy that dictates change and evolution are the only constants of this Universe? If change is promise then how is it possible for past events to continue to re-emerge generation after generation? The answer to repetitive history can be found in our habitual thinking and the way we create our experiences as conscious beings.
The mysteries of how our personal and social realities are manifested is no secret. Most understand the importance of thougth and th energy behind their existence. If your religious leader didn't manage to impress upon you the importance that thoughts hold in your life, then surely you can remember your grandmother telling you to "mind what you think." In many adults there is truly no lack of understnd when it comes the the weight of thoughts. What appears to be missing however is the importance of thought in the Present moment.
As conscious creators we have evolved the art of reflection. We refined the skill of being able to ocmmand thoughts and experiences from our memory banks. The relevance of such an art is really for the purpose of forming or altering our thinking in the Present moment to effect the desired change in our reality. This process is extremely important to bring about the change discussed earlier in this article since we learn from past experience. It seems as thought we have becomed addicted to our reflections and miss out on the benefit of making the necessary adjustment to thought in the Present moment.
History only repeats itself because we insist on living there. We choose to live their in our thoughts and our emotions; and after all do we not create with out thoughts and emotions. Change is always presenting itself, it is up to us to accept its invitation in the here and now.
