A Quick and Simple Updo

A Quick and Simple Updo
If you can put your hair into a ponytail- or, in this case, two- you can create a great updo.

This hairstyle is sleek with a sophisticated cluster of curls tucked neatly at the nape of your neck.

First brush your hair back smoothly and put it into two low pony-tails.

Take a strand of hair that is about a dime size in diameter and curl it tightly with a curling iron. Repeat the proceedure until all the hair is curled in both pony-tails.
If the curling iron doesn't work well for you, try rolling small strands of hair in small hot rollers. After the rollers are cool, remove them carefully and place the curls dividing any curls that seem too big.
Take each curl in your fingers and flip it over, placing it against your head and anchor it with a matching bobby pin as shown, letting the ends hang loose. Before you place the curl, you may want to smooth it with a comb and fan the top of the curl out with your fingers. A small amount of teasing at the base of the curl will help to fan it out and make it easier to work with.

Start by placing the curls between the two pony-tails, blending them together by inter-mingling the curls. Next proceed to the outside edges, then fill in so that the bobby pins and bands are hidden.

If your hair curls easily and is of medium length (only extending about two or three inches past the pony-tail band), you may need only a few bobby pins since the curls will stay in place on their own.

For a dressier party look try placing your pony-tails and curls vertically.

Still another variation places the pony-tails at one side of your head, just behind your ear.

Beautiful hair begins with choosing the styling products.
