Chef Jeff Blank is the owner and operator of Hudson's on the Bend restaurant located in Austin Texas about 20 minutes from downtown. This company knows how to create fearless dishes and sauces! Unique foods and the name Hudson's On The Bend goes together! Some of the wonderful sauces I've had the pleasure of trying from them include:

Hudson's Orange Ginger BBQ sauce - This sauce is different and extremely flavorful. They suggest that you can use it on all meats and game birds, I found it very delicious on chicken and roast!
Strawberry Raspberry sauce - made with garlic, shallots and chardonnay, this sauce is wonderful on chicken too! They say it is good also as an accent to ostrich steaks or pork loin.
Mexican Marigold Honey Mustard - Yes Marilgolds! Very interesting mustard! I've never eaten something made with flowers in it but this was quite tasty on sandwiches!
Bourbon Vanilla Praline Sauce - their only dessert sauce is delicious also. It can be served warm over cheesecake, ice cream pie, waffles, brownies or other things such as holiday sweet potatoes. I even took a spoonful of it and added it to cocoa (minus the pecans which I nibbled) Very good!

Other sauces that these fine folks make include: Apple Cider Brandy, Champagne Herb Vinegar, Chipotle BBQ Sauce, Guava Sour Cherry, Madagascar Peppercorn Sauce, Mango Jalapeno, and Tomatillo White Chocolate.

Hudson's On The Bend offers many sauces and products including customized gift packages. They specialize in game and fish cuisine and unique foods including rattlesnake, baby back ribs, salmon, venison, duck, well heck.. you just have to go and see all the mouth-watering dishes. . . they are out of this world!

Hudson's offers a wild-game cooking class on the third Sunday and first Thursday of every month. Here, Chef Blank offers gourmet advice on the cleaning, dressing and preparation of fresh game and wild fowl. All classes are held at the chef's home. Class sizes are limited so please call Shanny at 512/266-7655 or 800/996-7655 for more information and reservations. I guarantee I would love to get in on one of those classes! I sure plan to try.
