How to Create a Colorful Kitchen
Orange is the color of adventure and social communication- so what does that mean in a kitchen? The color orange radiates warmth and happiness, combining the physical energy and stimulation of red with the cheerfulness of yellow, but can also offer emotion strength in difficult times. Even if your kitchen is just totally white you might want just a "pop" of color on the counter, and orange could be just the thing you are looking for!

Orange helps us to bounce back from disappointments and despair, assisting in recovery from grief. (eating some chocolate chip cookies might help also) The very scent of citrus evokes clean, happy and radiant. For this reason in color psychology they tell us that orange is optimistic and uplifting, and will be rejuvenating to our spirit.

Orange is very optimistic and uplifting, and yet while you may say that you wouldn’t want to paint the whole kitchen orange – it is recommended that you use something orange every day to make you look at things differently and to give you a positive lift. And I have discovered there are also some people who love orange so much they would paint their kitchen orange. Some use a variation of orange by choosing peach, or a golden orange, amber, burnt orange or dark orange.

Choosing peach is good because it encourages good conversation and who doesn’t want to have good conversation and communication around the kitchen table. Golden orange is good because it encourages self-control and greater confidence.

Even though my favorite color to have in my kitchen is currently red, I do love citrus and to have a bowl of oranges sitting on the counter. Whether for good or bad, orange is also stimulating to the appetite, and it’s not such a good color to have in the kitchen while trying to lose weight. Yet, if you want people to sit around the table for a long time talking and eating then orange is a good color.

If you want just a pop of color try having an Calypso Basics, 01500, Melmaine Spoon Rest, Orange, or a stack of 16x16 Premium Orange Microfiber Towels - 12 Pack.
