Can You Duet?
Think about Sonny & Cher, Johnny and June Carter Cash, Brooks & Dunn, or Simon & Garfunkle and what comes to mind? A Singing Duo! A Duet! Keep that thought because here comes another music reality show along those same lines called, “Can You Duet?” This one has a twist though, because each contestant must compete with a partner (hence the “Duet” in the name). Partners seeking stardom will have to change each week, adding to the work and stress of adjusting to another person. We viewers will be privy to all the drama, on-stage and off! And thus a reality series will be born on CMT on Monday, April 14 at 10:30 p.m., ET/PT.
People Magazine’s 2003 “Sexiest Man Alive” Rossi Morreale (of “Temptation,” “TBS Weekend Extra,” and “Foody Call”) has been named host of the new series. The three people whose word is final are Naomi Judd, vocal coach Brett Manning, and "Amazed" songwriter Aimee Mayo will serve as the panel of judges.
Audience Members Sought
CMT and Freemantle North America are in the process of taping the final shows of this new-style singing competition at the Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville Tennessee and they are in search of people like you – audience members. The producers need music and TV lovers to attend these final tapings and they all are free (no tickets required) and open to all ages. You will be treated to duets from the top eight country duos, selected from all those 2,500 hopefuls who descended on downtown Nashville for the auditions in January. The final winner will be chosen on the March 27 finale.
