2. Jonathon was making the pies for his family’s dinner. If twelve people need to eat one piece of pie each, and each pie serves four people, how many pies should Jonathon make? (Hint: Draw a picture.)


3. When Jayden made name cards for each person who would eat dinner at his house, he made enough for eighteen people. However, four people got chicken pox (shouldn't that be turkey pox?)and can’t come. How many name cards does he need now?

4. During dinner, each person in Karen’s family named two things they were grateful for. If there were seven people at the table, how many things did the family list?

5. Joshua’s family loves animals. The guests all brought their pets to Thanksgiving dinner. If three families brought two pets each, and three families brought three pets each, and Joshua’s family had four pets…..how many pets came to dinner?

6. There were a lot of small children at Mindy’s Thanksgiving dinner. If four children spilled their milk, two spilled juice, and three spilled water, how many children did Mindy have to clean up after?

7. After dinner, Vincent and his brothers and cousins had to do all the dishes. If they washed twelve plates, twelve glasses and twelve forks, how many dishes did they wash?

8. While the adults cleaned up and talked, Rachel and her cousins played tag in the yard. Rachel tagged four girl cousins, six boy cousins and two dogs who got in the way. How many tags did Rachel make?

9. Matthew’s cousins got to spend the night after Thanksgiving. Two cousins slept in beds. One slept on the sofa. Four slept in sleeping bags and one got lonely and curled up with the dog. How many cousins spent the night?

10. After Thanksgiving dinner was over, all the guests who came to Clarissa’s house sent thank you cards. Four cards had pictures of turkeys. Two had pictures of families. Three had pictures of autumn leaves. How many thank you notes did Clarissa and her family receive?
