Hill of Tara - Home of High Kings

Guest Author - Mary Ellen Sweeney

Tara! The Home of the High Kings of Ireland, the REAL one, the Tara of myth and truth, one of the most important of Ireland's national treasures is in peril. It's just too unbelievable! Somebody wants to make it into a motorway.

Go to http://www.protect-tara.org to read the facts and please sign the petition to keep the planning board from thoughtlessly robbing the future of this true Irish treasure.

Anyone with their ear to the ground in Ireland at all knows that the price of land is sky high. It's suddenly become so wonderful to own in Ireland that Dicey Riley's cottage could go for a half mil. Now rumor has it that the Hill of Tara, the burial site of the High Kings of Ireland is attracting uncommon attention as a likely kings highway. Is there such poverty of spirit that they must sell off their royal legacy? How can every Irishman be descended from a king if there's no Tara?

Sign the petition at Protect Tara, and remind the elected officials of Ireland, the temporary custodians of this property, that it is not theirs to sell, that the citizens of Ireland own it in perpetuity, and it's not to be sold off.
It's high time that elected officials realize that it is not within their compass to allow this liquidation of National Treasures.
