Once you start entering sweepstakes you will find this is a very compulsive hobby! You will find yourself secretly jotting down UPC codes off products in the grocery stores, covertly scanning the aisles for contests, furtively grabbing handfuls of official entry blanks, and opening all of your groceries before using, just to see if you might be one of those lucky instant winners. I think every box in my pantry that has a “Win Instantly” message on it, is taped closed. Well, who can wait until they have need of the product? You’ve got to know right then and there if you are a winner, right? I mean, you could open that box a month later and find out the contest has expired, and your winning box is invalid. See all the excuses we sweepers can come up with for our erratic behavior.
Seriously, there are so many sweeps out there you can drive yourself crazy. Your mind set will become, now that’s the one that got away from me. Had I seen it earlier, I bet I would have won it. Well there is an easier way of obtaining contest information and that is through contest publications. The publishers of these weekly or monthly newsletters have put tremendous time and effort into seeing that you have the latest, most accurate information available, so use them. You will find when you start entering online and from sweepstakes newsletters, it will take all you have, just to stay on top of what you’ve got.
Below are a few sources for contest publications. This is an individual preference so I am not endorsing one over the other. Each publication has its own way of presenting available sweepstakes and it will all depend on the format you like. I suggest getting a sample copy from several publishers, then you can decide which one best fits your needs as far as time, finances and information.
