Learn Spanish in Mexico

It is not too early to plan your New Year’s resolution to learn Spanish. For the past 15 years Vistas Veracruz has offered small group instruction which includes lessons, tours, room and board. Now might be the time to plan that long-put off learning vacation for 2009.
Coatepec, Veracruz is an ideal location for your Spanish language immersion experience in Mexico. This is an almost undiscovered region of Mexico filled with lush green coffee plantations, raging rivers, colonial towns and majestic ruins. The State of Veracruz has a rich history, physical beauty, artistic legacy and an astounding variety of climate, ranging from the hot humid tropics to the high mist shrouded rain forests. Vistas Veracruz’s Spanish Program is designed to encourage learning through immersion into the culture. The colonial history, culture and natural beauty of Mexico come alive by visits to historic sites and natural wonders.
By living together in small groups an environment is created in which you are guided continuously in using Spanish on an everyday, casual basis. The staff speaks only Spanish and you assume the responsibility of using Spanish while participating in the daily living activities. These small groups allow for the individual attention and care that fosters maximum learning. Immersion at VISTAS does not mean sitting in a classroom all day. You will be visiting markets and museums, attending cultural events, singing in Spanish and learning to cook your favorite Mexican dishes. VISTAS Veracruz provides total immersion into culture and language of Mexico.
VISTAS' classes are designed for teachers and other professionals who need to communicate with Spanish speaking students and clients in diverse job situations. Individual or small group instruction brings together motivated students and skilled instructors who work together 6 hours daily. At the beginning level, the program emphasizes an oral communication approach with the exclusive use of Spanish in the classroom. For the more advanced student authentic written material is selected to increase proficiency in reading and writing while still allowing ample opportunities for oral communication.
Spanish Language courses may be taken for either non-credit or credit through California State University, Hayward.
VISTAS Veracruz will offer intense programs throughout 2009. For more information and costs see www.VistasVeracruz.com
