Next, you will set the options in the Text Tool Options Palette. If the Tool Options Palette is not visible, click View > Palettes > Tool Options. Set the following values in the Tool Options Palette. If you cannot see the Auto Kern check box, click on the small black arrow at the end of the palette to extend the palette. Create as: Floating Direction: Horizontal and Down Font: Comic Sans MS (or your choice) Size: 24 (or as needed) Stroke width: 1.0 Alignment: Align Right (or as needed) Anti-alias: Sharp Auto Kern: Checked Step 4. Add the text to the scrapbook page. Now that all the options are set, you can begin adding text to the image. Click on the image in the area where you want the text to be. This will open the Text Entry dialog box. First, click Remember Text. Then, type in the text you wish to add to the image and click Apply. The text will be floating on the image layer. If it needs to be repositioned, click and drag the text into the correct spot. Click Selections > Select None. Repeat this step for any other text you wish to add. If you wish to add vertical text as in the example, set the Direction option to Vertical and Right. Step 5. Add a drop shadow effect to the text (optional). To add a drop shadow effect to the text on this layer is easy. On the Menu bar, click Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow and set the following values in the Drop Shadow dialog box. You may wish to adjust these values for your choice of font typeface and size of font.
