Lynda.com YouTube Training for Business
In the first half of the lynda.com video training course entitled YouTube Projects for Business and Marketing, Jason Osder discussed ways to adapt an existing marketing plan to incorporate YouTube video marketing. In the second half of the course, Osder takes a more detailed approach.

Osder begins my discussing how to customize the YouTubeR channel real estate for your company branding. He begins with an overview of a few real world examples including Coca Cola's YouTube channel.

Next, Osder demonstrates how to use the YouTube interface to add branding to your channel such as using a logo image for the profile image. He also discusses the channel art and how to customize this one image for the mobile, computer and TV screens. Once the channel is well branded, Osder demonstrates how to add a description and links to the channel.

In the next lesson, Osder discusses the social marketing aspects of YouTube, especially the options for customer interaction with the channel. He also discusses integrating the company's FacebookR and TwitterR accounts with YouTube by embedding videos in to other social posts.

An overall marketing plan includes video on the company website. Osder uses a Wordpress website for the sample company and demonstrates a few ways to integrate YouTube into the website. First, he demonstrates how to use the embed code that is generated by YouTube to embed the video into a web page. He discusses the various option settings that you have when YouTube generates the embed code and demonstrates how to paste the embed code into a page's html code in the backend of Wordpress. He also discusses a few options for styling the embedded video with additional CSS.

In the second example, Osder demonstrates how to add a YouTube thumbnail gallery to the sidebar of your Wordpress site. He walks you through searching for the best YouTube plugin, activating the plugin and customizing the thumbnail gallery using the various widget options. Finally, he demonstrates how to choose the thumbnail for your videos in the Video Manager interface on YouTube.

In the last lesson in this course, Osder discusses advertising on YouTube. He covers the type of ads available and walks through adding your first ad to your YouTube account. Next, he discusses how to monitor your ad using YouTube and Google analytics.
