Below is a summary of the requirements for submitting a project to Envato VideoHive.com. There are many requirements from the folder structure to the preview video.

Folder Structure

Below is the example Envato includes in their help file. As they say, it is just a suggestion and you can use your own folder structure as long as everything is included, correctly linked to your .motn project file and easy to find.

Project Folder

• Assets folder - contains an Audio folder with all audio files
  
• Help Doc folder - contains the help documentation
  
• Project File 1 folder - contains an Images folder with individual image files
  
• Project File 2 folder - contains a Video folder with individual video files
  
  

Asset Requirements

Each asset type has its own requirements.

1. Editable objects must be separate and easy to edit.
   
   
2. Video assets can be an image sequence or one of the .mov formats below.
   
   
   • Photo Jpeg
   • Png with Alpha
   • Apple ProRes 422
   • Apple ProRes 422 HQ
   • H.264
   
   
   
3. Image assets can be any format that is recognized by Apple Motion^R or the software of your choice. If you use an image in the preview but do not include it in the project, replace the image with a placeholder object.
   
   
4. Audio assets used in your preview but not included in your project can be replaced with the Envato audio placeholder. If you do include the audio with the project, Envato accepts the .wav and .mp3 audio formats.
   
   

Help Documents

When creating your help documents, put yourself in the customer's place and try to anticipate any questions or problems they may encounter.

1. Begin with a walk through of your project folder structure, so that the buyer can find what they need easily.
   
   
2. Indicate where all placeholder objects are and give instructions for how to replace any placeholders with the buyer's assets.
   
   
3. Indicate where each editable text object is and give instructions for changing the text.
   
   
4. How to change the background for the project.
   
   
5. How to change the duration of the project.
   
   
6. How to use any color renders.
   
   

Preview Video and Envato Watermark

1. You will not need to use the Envato watermark overlay for Apple Motion template preview videos.
   
   
2. You will need to use the watermark overlay for Motion Graphics preview videos, with the exception of the presentation-style preview. See link below for more information about the presentation-style preview.
   
   1920x1080 video needs the 960x540 watermark overlay
   1280x 720 video needs the 640x360 watermark overlay
   
   
3. Your preview video is your "sales pitch" for your product and should show all key features of your product. For motion graphics projects, show examples of the motion graphics in use. Envato has several sample preview videos in the help section. See link below.
