Chicken Fried Steak With Salsa Recipe This chicken fried steak is served with salsa, a healthier alternative to the gravy that is usually served with steak prepared this way. Cube steaks are inexpensive; they make tasty and economical sandwiches for a football crowd. Ingredients 8 cube steaks 1 1/4 cups flour 1/2 tspn garlic powder 1/2 tspn onion flakes 1/2 tspn paprika 1 cup buttermilk* Place milk in a shallow dish and set aside. Dash of hot sauce Vegetable oil for frying Salt and pepper to taste Directions Pound steaks to make thinner and more tender. Mix dry ingredients together. Pour buttermilk and hot sauce into wide soup bowl. Place steaks in flour mix, coat both sides and shake excess mix. Dip steaks in milk, then back into the flour mix. Again shaking excess flour. Fry steaks until golden brown. Drain on paper towel and serve with Homemade Salsa Serves 8 Hints *Or use 1-1/4 cup of milk plus 1 tablespoon vinegar. Let sit for 5 to 10 minutes.
