10 Essential Oil Tips & Tricks


Essential oils are a natural solution for many health to beauty concerns. Essential oils are natural, free of chemicals, and adaptable to a number of everyday household solutions too. Purchase the natural oils and avoid the synthetic blends that are less effective and a waste of your money.

Natural Bug Repellent
Quite a few essential oils are repugnant to insects. The little pest simply don't like their aroma. Peppermint essential oil will send the pests running to the hills. If you are bothered by fleas, mosquitos, ants, or other pests, outdoors, add several drops of the oil to a handkerchief or scarf. Wrap the cloth around your wrists or neck to repel the pesky insects.

Better Sleep
Are you suffering with insomnia? Place a few drops of lavender essential oil on your pillows and sleep like a baby.

Perfume Signature
Mix two or three of your favorite essential oils together in a vial. You've just created your own personal signature scent. Here are a few ideas. Rose is a soothing scent, peppermint is invigorating, jasmine is very sensual.

Stinky House
Admit it. Your house could definitely use a bit of freshening up. Here is an idea: Add several drops of essential oil to a bottle with a spray top. fill the bottle with water. Spray the air to add a delightful odor of lemon, orange, peppermint, lavender, jasmine, or rose.

Stinky Bathroom
The bathroom is definitely a stinky place. Therefore, it requires more than just a mist of natural essential oil sprayed in the air. Add a few drops of your favorite citrus, essential oil to the cardboard inside a toilet tissue roll. No more stinky bathroom!

Smelly Shoes
Athletic shoes have a tendency to build up a very unpleasant odor. Add your favorite essential oil to a cotton ball and stuff it inside your athletic shoes. Let it sit in the shoe overnight. In the morning, your shoes will have a distinctly different aroma. Try tea tree, which reduces odors and kills germs.

Freshen Carpet
Add your favorite essential oils to cotton balls. Place the cotton balls in your vacuum cleaner bag. The scent is released, while you vacuum. Your carpets will thank you!

Stress Reducer
If you feel stressed out during the day, you will definitely like this idea: Add several drops of a stress reducing essential oil (rose) to a beaded natural bracelet that you wear around your wrist or a beaded necklace. Rub the drops in gently. Every time that you feel stressed. Rub the beads and inhale the stress reducing aroma.

Stuffy Nose
Cure a stuffy nose with peppermint oil or eucalyptus oil. Add a few drops to your tissue box. Close the box to preserve the scent. Now, you have a natural way to relieve your stuffy nose every time you grab a tissue.

Reduce Seasonal Allergies
A concoction of lavender, peppermint, and lemon added to a diffuser is thought to relieve seasonal allergies.
