FROM THE EDITORThe theme this month is Mother's Day, that special day of the year when we celebrate the Madonna in all of Us. The mother or matriarch is a rich vital energy that is strongly revered in spiritual studies, especially esoteric ones. We need only look at the metaphor given to our planet - the image of "Mother Earth" to see the qualities that are associated with motherhood. Nurturance, sustenance, life-giving, replenishment, guidance, forbearance, patience, caring, kindly discipline, feminine power - are all aspects of the sacred mother. Several cards represent this mature role of the female, including the Queens and some Major Arcana cards, especially the EMPRESS!
