Very long hair is often scary to hairdressers who are faced with creating a wedding or prom updo. Visions of their beautiful style falling down in the middle of the ceremony or the prom can strike fear into anyone's heart. However it can be done as long as each area is firmly controled.
Stacy of Elegant Styles Salon, Fort Wayne, IN, styled this attractive updo with ease using this method.

First the back half of the hair is twisted into a french roll and secured with bobby pins inserted down through the center of the twist.

The hair in front is curled with a curling iron.

After curling, narrow strands of hair are pulled back to the top of the twist and pinned in place allowing the ends to form the curl.

Smooth the bangs to the side or pull them straight back into the updo.

Tuck a flower, a veil or other ornament into the curls.
