Wedding Crashers Movie – Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn Crash Weddings

Movie Review - Wedding Crashers (2005)
Cast -
Owen Wilson
Vince Vaughn
Rachel McAdams
Jane Seymour
Christopher Walken
Will Ferrell
John Beckwith (Owen Wilson) and Jeremy Klein (Vince Vaughn) are womanizing divorce mediators who crash weddings in order to eat for free (especially wedding cake) and have one night stands with women so caught up with the fact that love is in the air.
Then John meets Claire Clearly (played by Rachel McAdams of “The Notebook” fame) who is the daughter of Senator Clearly (played by Christopher Walken) a man he truly idolizes. He begins to fall for her even though she has a boyfriend (played by Bradley Cooper) and this is where the trouble begins.
You see, this duo of wedding crashers live by various rules from an often quoted but never seen Wedding Crasher rule book. This book dictates pretty much their every move and falling in love with a bridesmaid at a wedding doesn’t real fit in with the eat cake, dance like lunatic and be as obnoxious as possible before you get into a girl’s pants code. After all, they are supposed to do this at several weddings throughout wedding season.
Poor Jeremy is abused this entire movie – from his latest conquest to the gay artist son to the moments where playing football and quail hunting are just too dangerous to even think of playing again. And John doesn’t escape either – he becomes the object of an older woman’s affection.
As if that’s not enough, Will Ferrell plays Chaz, a legendary over the hill, past his prime wedding crasher that now crashes funerals. Yeah, funerals. John can’t believe it either.
If you can get past the gratuitous nudity and don’t mind some obvious plotlines, you will have quite a few laughs watching Wedding Crashers. I unexpectedly enjoyed this movie.
