Tak For Mad Cookbook by Leah Christensen
If you love good food and love Danish foods you'll definitely want to check out the cookbook Tak For Mad by Leah Christensen It is a wonderful collection of Danish recipes that have touched hearts world wide and the author who is from Ontario knows what Danish cooking is all about having been raised in a family with a Danish heritage. The book was written in memory of the author's Mormor (which means Mother's Mother), including special thanks to some of Leahs friends who helped her make the book possible.
Many of the names of the recipes have been translated in both English and Danish when possible but some weren't able to be translated and are only in English. The title Tak For Mad, translated, means "Thanks For The Food".

Throughout the pages Leah shares her memories of growing up surrounded by loving family and good food on the table. With each chapter we hear more memories about growing up and cooking along with some interesting reading on common food traditions in Denmark and Leah also includes bits of info and trivia throughout the book in grey text boxes. Most of the recipes are in US measurements but a couple like the Brown Cakes and Marzipan recipes are in metric measurements.
