Southern Country Cooking from The Loveless Cafe

Southern Country Cooking from The Loveless Cafe
Southern Country Cooking from The Loveless Cafe by Jane & Michael Stern is a delightful hardback book with 210 pages of country goodness with scattered black and white photos throughout and a section of colored photographs with descriptions. It is published by Rutledge Hill Press.

I like this cookbook! It has several pages of reading plus down to earth southern cooking! The kinds of foods I grew up on. Country character is what this cookbook and the cafe is all about. Situated on Highway 100 in Nashville Tennessee Loveless cafe has a long history. From the forties when it was a party house with the largest hardwood living room floor around where they could dance the night away to the fifties when it became a tea room to the Loveless Cafe in the severnties this has been a popular Cafe for travelers and locals of Nashville.

It's an interesting cookbook. Not only will you find recipes but there are many good reading pages on:
Carol Fay Ellison (the biscuit lady)
Country Ham
Ed Castleman (used to live in the home that is now the cafe)
Tom Morales (owner of the Loveless Cafe)
Grand Ole Opry (pages to read and a couple of B/W photos) lots of stars have eaten there.
Mary Elizabeth Roberts (one of the main employees)
Michael Maxwell (the food guy)
George Harvel (the smoke guy)
Randy Williams (general manager)
Linda Furlow (cook)
Marie Barrett (waitress)
Alisa Huntsman (pastry chef)
Natchez Trace (hunting and travel route)
