Shrinkto5 - Reducing Movies to One DVD
Guest Author - Rick Carruth

Shrinkto5 is a new DVD shrinker brought to users as Open-Source software by it's development team. What does this mean to you? Now, at no cost, you can download a full movie onto one blank DVD. If you've ever tried to download a movie and realized you were out of storage space before the movie finished downloading, then you grasp the advantage of Shrinkto5.

Without getting overly technical, most of you are familiar with zipped files. Files are compacted to make it easier, quicker, and more practical to transfer them from one source to another. Think of Shrinkto5 as a cross-platform DVD copy engine that reduces the size of a DVD movie and makes transferring that movie easier and quicker.

In addition to reducing the overall size of the movie, users are provided with a simple interface, eliminating the need for complicated instructions and manuals. Using the interface "Whole DVD", "Movie Only" or "Custom Settings", you can select exactly what portions of the movie you want to transfer to your DVD. Eliminate 'Coming Attractions' or 'directors dialogue', for example, to increase available space on your DVD and speed download times.

Shrinkto5 will run under Windows 98/Me/2000/XP/2003/Tablet PC, and is a 2.0 Mb download.
