Magical Herbalism - Book ReviewIf you want to know all there is to know about the magic and healing powers of herbs, you will want an excellent reference guide to help you along. What you will need is a book that tells you all about the secrets of herbs and the wisdom of an expert on the subject. Magical Herbalism: The Secret Craft Of The Wise, by Scott Cunningham, is the book that will give you the help and knowledge you need. Scott Cunningham (June 27, 1956 - March 28, 1993) was born in Royal Oak, Michigan, USA. Cunningham authored over fifty books (fiction and non-fiction) and many of them are about the magic of herbs and their healing energies. Cunningham's name is synonymous with the words magical, herbs, and Solitary Wicca in the communities of paganism, wiccan and witchcraft. One rarely thinks of these things without connecting them to Scott Cunningham who practiced Wicca and followed his own path as a Solitary Wicca. He had spiritual vision that was simple yet deeply embracing of his path and the beliefs he defined for himself. For over twenty years Cunningham practiced magic and passed his knowledge on to the world through his well-written and easy to understand books of magic. In Magical Herbalism, Cunningham starts by giving the reader detailed descriptions of the tools a magical herbalist will need to perform their magic rituals. The book is a very practical guide, complete yet simple, with no difficult mysteries to unravel. After learning what tools are needed, Cunningham then instructs on how to purify and prepare the tools to become of service to solely you. Simple yet powerful magical words are given as examples of what to say when performing a ritual or consecrating a tool or herbs. One is never left in the dark with Cunningham, he explains thoroughly. He also provides in full detail the best times to do each step of preparation or construction of your tools, when to gather herbs and when to do certain rituals within particular moon phases and other planetary help. It is important to know which planet rules a specific day of the week and the attributes of each planet. This is all provided in the book by Cunningham. Chapter four on the language of magical herbalism will acquaint the reader with words and phrases common to the communities of paganism, wiccan, and witchcraft. Chapters on oils, flowers, condensers, divination, healing, spells and charms for love, and so much more will delight and entice one to read every word and start gathering the tools and knowledge so charmingly portrayed by Cunningham. This is a beautiful book to add to the personal library when one is on a spiritual path of self discovery and the magic of herbalism. The basic principles of magic are also provided in the book. One must treat these principles as sacred to be true to the good of all. Learning this type of magic is for ones who are serious on becoming a magical herbalist -- it is not to be taken lightly as fun and games, but as a way of life. According to Scott Cunningham, the ritualistic methods of magic have survived simply because they work -- and countless people around the world who are pagan, wiccan, or witch, will testify that it is a fact. I purchased my own copies of Magical Herbalism: The Secret Craft Of The Wise and it's perfect companion book, Cunningham's Encyclopedia Of Magical Herbs from Amazon and have provided the links below for your convenience. ,
