With winter approaching and the possibility of another round of nasty weather, at least here in North America, perhaps you should consider Weather Watcher 5.6. A downloadable, full service weather program that resides in your system tray, Weather Watcher can instantly pull up the weather for any of over seventy-seven thousand cities worldwide.

You can immediately access current conditions and temperature, hourly forecast, daily forecast, weather alerts, and detailed weather maps for your hometown. Advanced features include displaying a weather map as your desktop wallpaper (optional), a ten day forecast with highs and lows, UV index values, dew points and humidity levels, wind direction and speed, pressure and visibility.

A simple adjustment will display all information in either metric or English units to facilitate users in many different countries.

Created by Mike Singer of Singer's Creations ( www.singerscreations.com ), Weather Watcher is guaranteed spyware-free and ad-free. Personally, I'm a weather junkie, but after experiencing several nasty episodes with spyware and adware attached to another well-known weather notification system, (not of Mr. Singers creation), I have lived without my immediate weather fix for the past year. I'm pleased to have immediate access to the weather again, thanks to Weather Watcher.

Weather Watcher is available only as freeware. You will not download your weather station only to find the best features are available 'for a price'. Users can access a free forum, moderated by Mr. Singer, with instructions on commonly asked questions like changing your Weather Watchers wallpaper, finding cities in any country, printing out a forecast, or performing a clean uninstall. Email support is also available. Although it's freeware, donations are appreciated to help maintain support ( and well worth it..).

The current temperature is constantly displayed in your system tray, and a simple mouse-over will offer a quick check of current conditions. You can choose to customize the information available with the mouse-over or close the system tray icon at any time and access the weather from either your program files or a desktop icon - your choice.
