4D - Latest in Ultrasound Technology
How would you like to take home a CD after your fetal ultrasound? See your expected arrival in real time movement in a three-dimensional view rather than the grainy black-and-white still photo of the past? It has arrived!!!

Exclusive GE Technology has captured the fourth dimension - time. Adding time to a three-dimensional still photograph then, continuously updating the "picture" GE has revolutionized ultrasound examinations and have arrived at a live-action "video" with dimension, movement, shape and emotion. Your family's first video of the new baby!

This 4D technology leads to a number of medical benefits. Physicians and sonographers can better analyze fetal development. So you'll know what to expect and can feel confident during your pregnancy As with all ultrasound systems, it can also be used to better determine true fetal age; analyze the fetus' development; research multiple and high-risk pregnancies; detect abnormalities in the uterus or placenta; detect ectopic or other abnormalities and detect ovarian tumors.

Other more generalized benefits include: breast imaging, interventional urology and general imaging of other organs, internal anatomy and systems throughout the body. This technology also offers the ability to evaluate facial structures very early in an unborn child with benefits in detecting suspected micrognathia (lower jaw underdevelopment causing a misalignment of the teeth), cleft lip and palate, spina bifida, vascular anomalies and many genetic syndromes.

Ultrasound technology utilizes sound waves to look inside the body. A probe placed on the body emits sound waves into the body, listens for the return echo and generates an image - similar to radar. This is considered a safe, non-invasive exam and does not typically require any exam preparation. This new technology will not extend your time at the doctor's offices either! Still, please consult with your physician first for any requirements that he or she may prefer.

Please visit the GE Diasonics web site for information on locations near you that are already using this new ultrasound technology and a DEMO with a sample view!
