Newsletter Ideas for February
The month of February brings with it an opportunity to change up the look and feel of your newsletter or ezine. There are many possibilities for adding new and interesting content to your February newsletter or ezine. You want your subscribers to be intrigued and excited about reading your newsletter.

You can use quotes, historical facts or articles on how a particular event or date came to be. Here are some ideas to consider when planning your February newsletter or ezine.

The first thing that comes to mind is Valentine’s Day and Black History month. Whether it’s hearts, chocolates and flowers or African American Art, museum exhibitions or special services honoring African Americans notable for their contribution to American history, these are well known events that require preparations for celebrations.

Also during the month of February there are several birthdays celebrated, as well. Besides George Washington’s and Lincoln’s birthdays, there are other birthdays such as Elmo’s,(yes sesame street Elmo), Langston Hughes who was a great African American writer and poet, Susan B. Anthony and Levi Strauss.

If you’re interested in something a little quirky but interesting, there’s such events as the National Wear Red day, Toothache Day, National Gum Drop Day. Then, there’s National Freedom Day along with President’s Day and Groundhog Day. There is also a White T-Shirt Day and a National Inventor’s Day in honor of Thomas Edison’s birthday.

Other month long events to consider for your February newsletter or ezine is the American Heart month, International Friendship month, Responsible Pet Owners’ month and Parent Leadership month.

This is in no way an exhausted list of events and special dates for the month of February. You may even know of some events and holidays that are not as well known or only known to you and your circle of influence. There are celebrated days and holidays all around the world and there is something for everyone. From famous birthdays to arts and crafts to flowers and fruits; even these have significance for the month of February.

February is also a good time to look into your own family roots to see what kind of traditions or holidays were celebrated by your ancestors. It is also a great time to involve the ideas of family and friends, if doing a personal or informal newsletter or ezine. If doing a business ezine or newsletter, make sure you stay within the parameters of the company's or organization's guidelines.

As I mentioned before, these are just a few ideas to draw on when planning your February newsletter or ezine. Depending on your newsletter’s or ezine’s main focus, you maybe able to slant your content to reflect more information on any one of the above events or holidays.

These ideas are possibilities for your February newsletter or ezine. With some planning and research you can create a very interesting and fun newsletter that will have your readers and subscribers talking during the entire month. Besides, you want your subscribers to spread the word about your newsletter so that others can enjoy it too. You want your subscribers to be inspired and encouraged to hit the forward button for your newsletter or ezine. Word of mouth is always a good promotional tool.

There are, of course other things to consider for your February newsletter or ezine. Such things as graphics, pictures and even the layouts to reflect the focus of the month. Maybe you know a poet, artist or writer who could do a special feature of some sort for your February newsletter or ezine. Consider asking them if they would.

Then there’s nothing like drawing on your own creativity when it comes to designing, planning and laying out your own newsletter or ezine. No one knows better than you what you want your newsletter or ezines to say or focus on. This of course is in addition to the regular content of your newsletter or ezine. Always remember, too, that your ezine or newsletter is a reflection of your own creative ability.

So, go on, have some fun with your newsletter or ezine. Just be sure to keep your special features within the context of the regular content you feature in every issue of your newsletter or ezine.
