Newsletter Ideas for August

There are many newsletter ideas for August and some of you are searching for a different angle to write from. August has great potential for interesting and even bizarre holidays or observances. Let's look at what themes the month of August holds for the newsletter editor and publisher.

* What comes to mind when you think about the month of August? Do you have any personal or family traditions, events or activities that always take place during the month of August? If so consider sharing them with your readers in your newsletter.

One main theme that is prevalent for August is summer and heat. It's hot and the heat can be unbearable for some. Many retailers use the month of August to *clearing out* of their summer inventory and this *clearing out* is advertised as their end of summer sale. Think about what hot deals or end of summer sales you can promote through your newsletter for your town, community, organization or even yourself.

* What kind of hot deals can you offer your readers?

August is also the last month for people's summer vacations. People have been taking vacations throughout the summer, but August signifies the end of summer. The end of summer being the end of lazy, hot days at the beach or pool. During this end of summer time many families with school age children are preparing for *back to school*. There are back to school events, sales and activities that takes place during August.

* What kind of events, sales or activities do you or your community participate in during this time?

Many communities and organization run *back to school* drives to collect school essentials for Social Services to be distribute to the needy. If your community, organization or even your church is a contributor to this kind of drive or event write about it in your newsletter. Let your readers know the good that your town or community is involved with as a way to help those who are less fortunate.

Now there is much more that happens in the month of August, especially internally. Businesses, retailers and organizations of specific industries or niches have their own monthly or weekly observances. If you are an editor or publisher of a newsletter in a particular niche or industry consider what kinds of events, sales or activities go on during the month of August. Each niche or industry have their own special occasions and observances for the month of August.

Look internal to your niche or industry to capitalize on what's important to them during the month of August. Many industries take full advantage of this time to remind customers, clients and members that it's time to get back into the swing of things.

* What niche or industry does your newsletter cover? Are their any August observances or special days to be considered?
