This new feature presents an electronic version of my new Terra Tarot Deck, one card at a time. The eighth card available for download is The Six of Swords.

The Six of Swords brings a welcome time of recuperation after a chaotic period - which heralds the beginning of new perceptions and deeper clarity. This newfound clarity will help us all to make important decisions, including resolutions that we can live with. It brings a sense of balance between our thoughts and our feelings, coaxing us to relate to others in a more balanced and open way. The Six of Swords calls us to step back, think before we talk, and try to focus on the purity of the other, even if it is hidden behind annoying behavior.
Some associate a rather blue, listless energy to this card - which can very well happen if one is not able to philosophically lift themselves to a place of hope and recovery. Picking up the pieces after chaos is not always easy. Many people on this planet are doing just that right now. This card also signals traveling, changing location, being uprooted and journeying - both externally and internally. The Six of Swords has also been dubbed the Lord of Science, particularly new discoveries and venturing into unknown territory. This card calls us (as individuals and as a race) to put the past behind us and move on to a brighter future ahead.
The symbology used in my rendition of the Six of Swords shows an lone male figure riding his steed in the desert sun. He searches for any who are in danger, so he might guide them to safety. He journies far and wide, venturing into new territory.
Since the theme of this deck is Terra, our Mother Earth, I elected to begin this illustration using a primitive landscape that showcases piercing mountains that also point straight up into the clear blueish purple sky. The foreground consists of a vast sandy desert plain that nicely contrasts the sky with its rich golden tones.
Below the sword symbols rests an decorative Merkaba which represents the metaphysical spirit "vehicle" that becomes activated as we balance our chakras, meridians, and lifeforce. Next to the Merkaba, lies the elemental Air symbol to the left, and the Male gender symbol, since the Swords are considered to be masculine in nature.
