Easy Mother’s Day Dessert Recipe
Guest Author - Jennifer Wolf

This is a fun and easy dessert that is sure to impress Mom! I’ve suggested using heart-shaped cookie cutters, but any shape will work. Alternatively, you can use a paring knife to carefully cut the pound cake into eight different heart shapes. This recipe makes four dessert servings, but it can easily be adapted to serve more.

Ingredients:
One pound cake
One container of Betty Crocker® “Pour and Frost” icing
Food Coloring
One tube of decorative icing gel (for writing)

Directions:
1. Slice the pound cake into 8 ½-inch slices.
2. Using a large heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut half the slices into large hearts.
3. Put each large heart onto separate serving plates.
4. Warm the pourable frosting in the microwave.
5. Divide the pourable frosting in half. If you desire, add different color food colorings to each portion.
6. Pour one batch of frosting over each of the four large hearts.
7. Using a smaller heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut the remaining pound cake slices into smaller hearts.
8. Put each of the smaller hearts onto a separate plate.
9. Pour the second batch of colored frosting over each of the smaller hearts.
10. Once the frosting is set, carefully transfer the smaller hearts. Place one on top of each of the large hearts to create four servings.
11. Finally, use the writing gel to write words like “Mom,” “Love,” “Fun,” and “Kind” on each dessert. Or Try “Mom,” “We,” “Love,” “You!”
