Product Review: Snickerdoodles Baking Mix
Baking with kids provides the opportunity to spend quality time together and create lifelong memories. Some of my favorite childhood memories were baking treats with my mom and grandmother for family and friends.

I recently had the pleasure of trying out a new baking mix designed for kids called K.A.F. Kids Snickerdoodles mix, made with organic flour.

K.A.F. Kids mixes were created by the well known flour brand, King Arthur Flour. King Arthur Flour is the oldest flour company in America at two hundred and eighteen years old.

The K.A.F. Kids Snickerdoodles mix comes in colorful box, with a delicious looking stack of cookies on the front. My first thought was that no matter how nice the cookies looked on the front of the box, there was no way mine would turn out that good. However, I was eager to give it a try.

The box contains the baking mix, plus a packet of sweet smelling cinnamon sugar. The instructions were simple: Mix the egg and melted butter, and combine with the mix. Roll individual balls of dough in the cinnamon sugar, and bake for eight to ten minutes.

After only five minutes of baking, a sweet smell filled my kitchen. Within eight minutes, my husband wondered what smelled so good from the other end of the house. Just before ten minutes had passed, I pulled out sixteen gorgeous snickerdoodles! Even before I tasted my first bite, I could not believe how much my cookies looked like the ones on the front of the box. The real question, however, was...how would they taste?

After trying one bite, I was in pure snickerdoodle heaven! I was amazed that something that was so easy to prepare had such a homemade taste. It was soft, sweet, and simply mouthwatering!

Kids of all ages can help prepare this mix. Younger kids will have fun helping make the balls and rolling them in the sugar, and older kids can use the mix to create a wonderful treat all by themselves.

K.A.F. Kids Mixes offers the entire family a fun, easy, and delicious way to spend quality time together. Each recipe was developed by expert bakers, and taste tested by a team of “toddler-to-teen taste testers.”

My own taste testers, ages eight and nine, gave the following reviews:

Taste Tester Number One:

"These are really, really, REALLY GOOD! Can we have some more?"

Taste Tester Number Two:

"Ohh! It smells like cinnamon and sugar. Can I have another one?"

Other mixes in the K.A.F. Kids series include: ABC Twists, Rainbow Snack Cake, Chocolate Chipper Muffin Mix, Cowboy Oatmeal Muffin Mix, and Pizza Crust. I can’t wait (along with my taste testing sidekicks) to try them all!
