This new feature will be a long work in progress since it will showcase a labor of love: my new Terra Tarot Deck, one card at a time. The twelfth card available for download is Death.

The Death card is without a doubt the most misunderstood card in the Tarot. Yes, it CAN mean actual physical death, especially if you are reading for someone who is elderly or ill. But, more often than not, this is not what the card means at all. One sure meaning of this card is that the querant will undergo major changes - often to the point of transformation. Often, these changes make the person feel like their entire life has changed - that their old life has literally died. It can also mean the completion of a life phase, the end of the chapter, so to speak.
The symbology used in my rendition of Death shows an exquisite crystal skull glowing within a desolate dark landscape. To the left of the skull, lies a lonely white glowing rose. Together, the skull and the rose symbolize a transformation, a dark night of the soul which leads to new birth and new life.
Since the theme of this deck is Terra, our Mother Earth, I created the barren landscape that provides a somber yet strong background for the skull and rose. Above the skull rests an decorative Merkaba which represents the metaphysical spirit "vehicle" that becomes activated as we balance our chakras, meridians, and lifeforce.
I am presenting an online version of the Terra Deck for our Bella readers. Just click on the banner below to download your copy of the Death card. Right click on the image that comes up and save to your selected folder.
