The first list of guest stars for the upcoming season of "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" have been announced, and it runs the gamut from top of the charts to grasping for their 15 minutes.
Grammy-winning musician John Mayer will perform on the season opener, a two-part episode. He will perform in a Las Vegas club setting during the show and will debut two songs off of his upcoming cd. "Waiting on the World to Change," and "Slow Dancing in a Burning Room" are both from Mayer's third studio album, Continuum, which will be released September 12, a week before the episode airs.
Joining Meyer in the episode will be actor Danny Bonaduce, as a washed-up aging rocker who ends up murdered. Bonaduce first rose to fame as a member of the "Partridge Family," but in recent years, became famous for his alcohol and drug-induced breakdowns, as documented on the VH-1 reality series, "Breaking Bonaduce." Is his role on this episode a new chapter in his career, or merely typecasting?
The last celebrity -- and I use this term loosely -- that "CSI" has lined-up, is Kevin Federline. Yes, Mr. Britney Spears is currently filming his episode in which he plays a teen who causes trouble for the characters of Nick Stokes (George Eads) and Warrick Brown (Gary Dourdan). Prior to this, K-Fed's biggest acting role was as himself in the reality series, " Britney & Kevin: Chaotic."
Out of the three, I think John Mayer is the one I most like to see. But I think I'm more excited about the upcoming season of "CSI" in general. Ending last season with Sarah and Grissom the way they did...it'll be interesting to see how this plays out.
