Note: Mushrooms add taste, texture, and nutrition to almost any dish. In some cultures mushrooms were considered the source of immortality. Ancient Egyptians Hieroglyphics of 4600 years ago record that mushrooms were considered the plant of immortality. The delicious flavor of mushrooms intrigued the pharaohs of Egypt so much that they decreed that mushrooms were food for royalty and that no commoner could ever touch them. Fortunately we aren't restricted from partaking in the wonderful taste of funghi.
