This year October 13th actually falls on a Friday and Florida convention organizers Spooky Empire have capitalized on this by holding their Screamfest horror convention on that weekend.

This is the fourth year of the convention and they've managed to round up some really great guests for their Orlando convention. Headliners include Edward Furlong (Terminator 2), wrestler/actor Roddy Piper (They Live), Tony Todd (Candyman), GoGos member Jane Wiedlin (Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure) and goremaster supreme Tom Savini (who has also acted in films like From Dusk to Dawn and Dawn of the Dead).

There's also a Halloween reunion with PJ Soles and George P. Wilbur, a Lost Boys reunion with Billy Wirth, Brooke McCarter and Chance Michael Corbitt, and a Friday the 13th reunion with Amy Steel, Ari Lehman, Adrienne King and Richard Brooker.

But for me, the cherry on top for this convention are the appearances of Troma films head honcho Lloyd Kaufmann, who will be hosting a 10th anniversary screening of Tromeo and Juliet, and Patricia Quinn, who played Magenta in the classic film Rocky Horror Picture Show. Quinn will not only appear during the regular panels and autograph sessions, but will M.C. a special Saturday night showing of the film which will feature RHPS shadow casts from throughout Florida, including Orlando's own fab Rich Weirdoes.

So how much will this cost you? Can you believe only $25 for a day pass or $30 for the weekend? This includes all the panels and special events like the RHPS event. The only thing not covered is the autographs. Each star charges for their autograph to compensate for appearing at the convention, but that's fine with me since there's few that I'd want an autograph from and I'd rather not pay a huge fee to attend just to cover the autograph fees.
