24 Set To Debut Season Six in January 2007
Guest Author - Michelle Snow

Emmy Award-winning television series "24" is coming back for yet another day in the life of Jack Bauer. "Day Six" will debut with a four-hour, two-night television event Sunday, Jan. 14 and Monday, Jan. 15 (8:00 pm ET/PT both nights) on FOX.

No word on how Bauer gets out of that, but season six will pick up the storyline 20 months after that event.

Besides Sutherland, returning cast members include DB Woodside as Wayne Palmer, the strong-minded brother of the late President David Palmer; Regina King as Sandra Palmer, a determined and powerful advocacy lawyer; James Cromwell as Phillip Bauer, the estranged father of Jack Bauer; and Jayne Atkinson and Peter MacNicol as presidential advisors Karen Hayes and Thomas Lennox.

Also returning to the CTU are Mary Lynn Rajskub (Chloe O'Brian), Roger Cross (Curtis Manning), James Morrison (Bill Buchanan), Eric Balfour (Milo Pressman) and Carlo Rota (Morris O'Brian).

Joining the cast this season, for an undetermined amount of episodes, is actor Chad Lowe. His character is named Reed Pollock and is described as being a "savvy politician" - producers won't say how he figures into the upcoming season's plots, however.

Following the multi-part debut, the fifth, and subsequent hours, of "24" will air in the show's regular time period starting on Monday, Jan. 22 (9:00 pm ET/PT). Fox then promises the season will run in its entirety straight through without any repeat breaks.

But if you can't wait until January for a taste of season six, Fox has opened up a new website, www.24trailer.com, which will air a web-only trailer for the new season starting October - you guessed it - 24. Right now the website just has a countdown clock to the trailer debut, as well as links to the major "24" sites around the world. Fox promises the trailer will offer up clues for what will happen during season six.

Are you a "24" fan? How do you think Jack will escape - or will the escape be part of the storyline? Talk about it on our message boards.
