A standard pork chop dish with an Italian flair. It's easy to make and delicious to eat!

Italian Mushroom Pork Chops Recipes

Recipe I

Ingredients

  • 4 pork chops
  • 4 Tbs butter
  • 1 small onion, sliced thin
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can water
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper, freshly ground
  • 1/2 tsp ground sage
  • 1/2 tsp thyme
  • 1/4 cup flour

Directions

  1. Mix the flour, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper together.
  2. Flour the pork chops and place in a baking dish.
  3. Dot the pork chops with butter.
  4. Distribute the onion slices over the pork chops evenly.
  5. In a small bowl mix together the mushroom soup and water. Evenly pour over the pork chops.
  6. Cover and bake at 350F degrees for 1 hour.

Recipe II

Ingredients

  • 4 pork chops
  • 1/4 cup bottled Italian salad dressing
  • 1/2 tsp thyme
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper, freshly ground
  • 1/4 cup flour

Directions

  1. Place pork chops in shallow bowl. Pour the salad dressing over the pork chops. Turn the pork chops to coat evenly with the dressing.
  2. Refrigerate the pork chops for 1 hour to marinate.
  3. Mix together the thyme, oregano, black pepper, and flour.
  4. Drain the pork chops and discard marinade.
  5. Coat the pork chops with the herbed flour.
  6. Place the pork chops in a baking dish and bake for 35 minutes at 400f.

Note:
Recipe I
I often add an extra can of sliced mushrooms to the first recipe. Plate the pork chops smothered with the gravy from the baking dish.
Recipe II
If you don't have Italian salad dressing you can make an easy marinade with olive oil, red wine vinegar, salt, and basil.
Serve both recipes with garlic mashed potatoes and a green salad.
